What is an empowering poem to send a family member recovering from a stroke?
My grandmother had a stroke over the holidays, though now she is fine and recovering. That said, I think she is a little depressed and frustrated with her physical therapy, and maybe even starting to think about how much longer she wants to be around and about whether all the work she needs to put in to get better is worth it. Obviously I want that to change. So, I thought of sending her a poem to really lift her spirits, but I don't know of any---or even any particular poets---off the top of my head that would be apt. Does anyone know of any work that would be really empowering for someone in her situation, particularly one that would make sense coming from a grandson?
