I think motor is locked?

i tried to move it with a socket but it dont budge.they told me to take out all spark plugs out and try it like that. what kind of lubricant cant i use to put in the spark plugs holes? will the bolt that goes to the crankshaft brake if keep messing with it? its for a 98 mustang gt. is there others way to check if my engine is locked?
