Has anyone found a good online children's encyclopedia?

My parents have generously offered the children's encyclopedia britannica for Christmas but I have found a review saying its really hard to navigate. Has anyone else tried it or any other computer encyclopedia's? We'd prefer an online resource or one that uses a single CD or DVD rather than a set of CDs. Grateful for any info.
